What is a blog?

The word blog is a combination of two words, web and log. It was shortened to blog.

The word blog means an online diary; a personal log of thoughts published on a web page.

The singular noun is blog and the plural is blogs.

• Sally wrote a blog today.
• Sally wrote three blogs today.

The verb is blog, blogged or blogging.

• I blog everyday.
• I blogged when I was on vacation.
• I am blogging while I am talking on the phone.

A person who blogs is called a blogger which is a noun.

• I am a blogger.
